Manage European Research Council (ERC)
You received the ERC grant, congratulations!
You are now in the Grant Agreement Preparation (GAP) phase. Some administrative issues lie ahead. We are happy to support you and explain the procedures. During this phase, a close collaboration between you and our office is crucial.
Support - our services:
- we take care of administrative processes
- we disentangle incoming information from different EU sources
- we guide you step by step through the process
- we sign the Declaration of Honour (DoH, predecessor to the Grant Agreement) and the Grant Agreement (GA, contract between Host Institution and the European Commission)
- we issue the Supplementary Agreement (SA, agreement between you and your Host Institution)
Procedures - your administrative tasks:
- you may simply follow our instructions guiding you through the process. We will contact you whenever action is needed.
You have a reporting obligation towards the ERC. This obligation includes continuous, periodic and final reports, which consist of scientific and financial parts. For the financial part, the protected page financial department of ETH Zurich supports you.
You will be notified in due time about upcoming reports and informed specifically about your duties.
Amendments (changes) to the contract might be necessary during the lifetime of the project. The most common reasons for an Amendment involve:
- Scientific deviation from Annex 1 of the Grant Agreement
- Change of Host Institution
- Suspension of the project
- No-cost extension (only possible after midterm report, only for scientific reasons)
Please note that shifts within and between budget categories do not need an amendment (except for subcontracting).
If you think an Amendment might be necessary, get in touch with us and we will guide you through the process.
With an ongoing (or recently finalised) ERC grant, you are eligible to apply to an external page ERC Proof of Concept call.
